Abstract

Housing has both social as well as economical impact. Socially it is one of the basic requirements for growth and survival where as economically it is seen as capital asset. In context of the Indian economy Housing sector has its own importance. This paper aims at presenting the present scenario of Indian housing sector and connecting it to the economic development. For this impact of housing sector on GDP, employment generation and capital formation has been shown using various sources of database.
