Abstract
Iron deficiency anemia caused by a lack of iron. Anemia is defined as a decrease in the number of red blood cells or the amount of hemoglobin in the blood. When onset is slow, symptoms are often vague including feeling tired, weakness, shortness of breath, or poor ability to exercise.
The level of knowledge of the adolescent girl shows that majority 60 of the sample
- The finding of pre-test showed that 7(11.7%) girls have inadequate knowledge and 53(83.3%) girls have moderate knowledge.
- The findings of post-test showed that 9(15.0%) of girls has moderate knowledge and rise to 51(85.0%) girls have adequate knowledge.
Comparison of pre-test and post-test score of iron deficiency anemia regarding the knowledge of adolescent’s girl. It was found that difference between the mean pre test (9.66) and mean posttest (16.85) knowledge score was found to be significant. The‘t’ calculated value 26.48 is more than tabulated 3.23 at level of significance. Hence accepted H1and conclude that the mean post-test knowledge score is significantly higher than the mean pre-test knowledge score among adolescents girl exposed to planned teaching program.
