A Study to Assess the Effectiveness of Planned Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding Antenatal Care for Primigravida Mother in Selected Hospitals at Anand District

  • To assess the pre existing knowledge of primigravida mothers regarding antenatal care..

  • To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on antenatal care for primigravida mother.

  • To compare the pre-test and post-test knowledge level of primigravida mothers.

  • To determine the association between pre-test knowledge score with their selected demographic variable.


Quasi experimental research design , purposive sampling technique was adopted to achieve the goal of the study.  The tool consists of two parts. First part consist of demographic data of the sample and second part consist of structured knowledge questioners. The sample was 60 primigravida mothers ian selected hospital of Anand district.


The collected data was tabulated and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. In the pre-test level mean score 13.90 and post- test mean score was 25.05 .the post-test level of knowledge mean score is significantly > than the pre-test knowledge mean score. The ‘t’ calculated value 26.35 is more than tabulated value 2.66  at 0.01 level of significance. Therefore H1 was accepted.
