Seismic Analysis of RC Frame Structure with Soft Storey in Different Earthquake Zones

In this paper an attempt is made to analyze the multistoried RC frame structure for the seismic forces. The seismic forces are calculated as per IS 1893 (part1):2002. The modeling of the whole building is carried out using the computer program STAAD Pro. Software. For this purpose four building models are developed, corresponding to the structures constructed on rock soil of seismic zones II, III, IV, V.  In this study, the seismic forces acting on multistoried RC frame structure are calculated by Equivalent static method as well as STAAD Pro. software. A comparison has been made between the lateral forces and base shear of RC frame structure located at various zones. Parametric studies on shear force, bending moment, displacement have been carried out using STAAD Pro. software to investigate the influence of these parameter on the behavior of structure.
